On my way home this song came up during shuffle and I thought it was perfect for the Covert Affairs theme song! Why?! It’s BANGING! :P I mean who else other than David Guetta can give you that techno rush and create beats that sound like gun audio effects for Madonna‘s Revolver?! Revolver is about love and guns…daaaaangerrrrous….which maintains the whole James Bondish style, but sounds waaaay more kick-ass! Put the Covert Affairs video on mute and just have “Revolver” play and you’ll see what I mean!
Squeezing in time for Music Mondays is HAAARRD! I’m dead tired when I get home!
Alright here’s a teenie glimpse of my September playlist:
“Sidelines” – Maria Chello
“Let Me Be Myself” – 3 Doors Down
“Club Can’t Handle Me” – Flo Rida & David Guetta
“Please Don’t Let Me Go” – Olly Murs
“Crossfire” – Brandon Flowers
“King of Anything” – Sara Bareilles
“Sideline” – Maria Chello: This song I’m sure just about everyone and his/her mama can relate to. The premise of the song is about a one-way relationship and the girl is hanging on my a strand of hope..waiting waiting waiting. Girl get a move on! Easier said than done. Oh I just realized it could even a song used for Black Rock Shooter! Yes it’s a SAD SONG! ;_;
Lyrics:
i can’t keep waiting, waiting
i can’t keep waiting, waiting
show me a sign
give me a reason to believe in your smile
cos i’m not seeing anything on your face
it’s like our love was erased
from your eyes
throw me a rope
don’t leave me drowning in an ocean so cold
i really need you to help me understand
why you don’t reach for my hand
when you know i’m hurting
i’ve been on the sideline waiting baby
feeling like i’m here alone
i don’t wanna be your last resort
sitting on the bench waiting for your call
i thought that we were closer
i try and i try
and you’re never around
i say i won’t cry
but the tears they come down
pouring and the truth is i
don’t wanna leave but i’m losing my mind
waiting on the sideline
this is your chance
our song is playing
you should want us to dance
you use to laugh when i would step on your feet
is that just a memory
(remember when we danced til the sun came up)
i’m not a game
you can’t replace me if i happen to break
so don’t make promises and not follow through
cos i don’t do that to you
baby can you feel me
i’ve been on the sideline waiting for you
feeling like i’m here alone
i don’t wanna be your last resort
sitting on the bench waiting for your call
i thought that we were closer
i try and i try
and you’re never around
i say i won’t cry
but the tears they come down
pouring and the truth is i
don’t wanna leave but i’m losing my mind
waiting on the sideline
something’s gotta change
cos i’ve been losing faith
i love you but i can’t wait here forever
how did you get so far
so far away from my heart
don’t you realize i’m here too
i can’t keep waiting, waiting
i can’t keep waiting, waiting
cos it don’t seem like you do
i can’t keep waiting, waiting
i can’t keep waiting, waiting
cos i am hurt, i don’t need hurt from you
you got me waiting on the sideline
i’ve been on the sideline waiting baby
feeling like i’m here alone
i don’t wanna be your last resort
sitting on the bench waiting for your call
i thought that we were closer
i try and i try
and you’re never around
i say i won’t cry
but the tears they come down
pouring and the truth is i
don’t wanna leave but i’m losing my mind
waiting on the sideline
cos i am hurt, i don’t need hurt from you
you got me waiting on the sideline
Update: Thanks to readers Jon Van Horne and Red Sox Fan in the comments section for providing us more feedback on the theme song for Rizzoli and Isles: Boston Pops’ Instrumental Version to “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” from the “Red Sox Album”.
The Rizzoli and Isles theme song is jam packed full of energy that reflects the solid thrilling pace of the show. I would prefer the instrumental version although I don’t mind the Linkin Park-like voice blaring lyrics if I were on a pirate ship buckled down with scallywags. This song makes me want to watch Boondock Saints all over again.
“I’m Shipping Up To Boston” – Dropkick Murphys
Lyrics:
I’m a sailor peg
And I lost my leg
Climbing up the top sails
I lost my leg!
I’m shipping up to Boston … wayy-yooo!
I’m shipping up to Boston … wayyyyyy-yo!
I’m shipping up to Boston … wayy-yooo!
I’m shipping off … to find my wooden leg!
I received a message requesting for the name of the HOTD opening theme song. So this post is for those searching for the HOTD song names. Hope it helps! ^_^
High School of the Dead Opening Song Name: “HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD” by 岸田教団&THE明星ロケッツ/Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets
English Lyrics:
As a sense of reality washes away,
Emotions pile up like rubble.
It has nowhere to go.
I ran through the rain of blood,
Bearing a lost hope in my chest.
The world around me has collapsed innocently.
What’s beyond it? What can I see?
I have yet to know what’s there.
The endless future of all the things I know
Simply expand before me without making a sound.
Japanese Lyrics:
Yureta genjitsukan nakushita mama de
Gareki no you ni tsumikasanaru kono kanshou wa doko e yuku?
Tsuieta kibou kakae akai ame o harai hashitta muchuu ni
Kuzureta kandou no hate ni
Nani o miru nani ga aru mada shiranai
Hakanai subete no inori wa
Tada mugon ni me no mae ni hirogaritsuzuketa
High School of the Dead Ending Song Name: “君と太陽が死んだ日/Kimi to Taiyou ga Shinda Hi/The Day When You and the Sun Died” by 黒崎真音/Kurosaki Maon
English Lyrics:
In this endless world,
Final words resound loud and clear.
Surreal than distant
Scream out your voice as innocence fade away.
My everyday life turned to dust
Because you and the sun died that day.
A whirlpool of interfering noise
Swallow us, but no one notices.
Please don’t forget how my voice sounds
Because we will meet again.
Japanese Lyrics:
Owaranai sekai no naka de
Sakimidareta saigo no kotoba yo
Swear and despair
Muku ni kaeranai
Koe o karashite sakebe
Atarimae no nichijou ga hateru
Kimi to taiyou ga shinda hi
Nozomanai noizu no uzu ni
Hitoshirezu ni nomikomarete yuku
Wasurenaide watashi no koe o
Mata deau sono hi made
