Kate is as hot as ever in her third starring role in Underworld. Alongside the vampire series Blade, this is one of my favorites! The movie does not come out until January 20, 2012! Damn! Too far!
Let’s begin with comparing the trailers shall we?
The Real L Word Season 1
The Real L Word Season 2
My enthusiasm for The Real L Word couldn’t be over the moon when I first saw the trailer. Finally there is a show about lesbians, their backgrounds and how they lived their lives day to day being open about their sexuality. I learned about their first experience with another woman, what they feel being with a woman is like and why they’ve chosen to lead that type of lifestyle despite the challenges that take hold same-sex couples. Seeing beautiful successful women who can be happy together in marriage or family gives me hope.
I could relate to the women in The Real L Word Season 1 having gone through many of the same experiences myself. That was my draw. Season 1 touched on some of the most sensitive issues: coming out to family and having them accept you, marriage and children.
The Real L Word Season 2 feels like a mashup of a few more Whitneys and a couple more people to add to the issues many lesbians face: dating and having a child. The same desire I had when I first watched the show is waning.
I’ll admit that Whitney can be sweet, nice, cool and charming in her Jamaican up-do way. I can also see loving her to death if she were my friend but Continue reading »
Although I’m not a huge fan of dramas, especially in this genre, Bloomington comes off as more lighthearted than most other lesbian drama movies I’ve watched. I like the fact that it does play on that fantasy of student-teacher relationships and I hope the ending is a satisfying one. [You can read my teacher crush is at the end of this post. *wink*]
“Bloomington” is a coming-of-age drama about a former child actress attending college in search of independence and who ends up becoming romantically involved with a female professor. Their relationship thrives until an opportunity to return to acting forces her to make life-altering decisions. -Bloomington Official Site
Sexy and offbeat, Bloomingtonis a fantastic little drama from writer-director Fernanda Cardoso. Smartly playing with – and even subverting – the teacher-student lesbian romance, it’s a refreshing treat in a summer swimming with overdone melodramas. -AE

My Ultimate Teacher Crush
Who has not crushed on his/her teacher or professor before? Teachers are the type of people you look up to and almost idolize. They inspire you to achieve greatness in life and support your passions.
The first teacher I had a crush on was during my freshman year of high school. A new PE teacher entered the school and she was supposedly one of the best basketball and soccer players in the district. Ren (just to give her a name) was a national player and competed against other states. I understood she was very well-known. Ren had this tall, lean almost modelish figure without the bones jutting out like runway models. You can immediately see she was athletic because the tone in her calves when she walked was quite defined. Continue reading »
Visually Thor looks like a blast to watch at the theaters but I’m unsure about the storyline. The trailer gives a lot away (like most trailers do) yet it doesn’t really give away the entire story unless you are a fan of the Thor Marvel comics. If ratings are good, I am definitely hopping a seat!
